It’s easy to feel overwhelmed by our constantly changing world. At Cove Church, you’ll find a safe harbor where you can pause and rest so you can move forward with confidence and hope.

At Cove Church, we know that you want to live a meaningful life.

In order to do that, you need to put down what is holding you back and find who you are meant to be. The problem is, our world keeps changing, which makes you feel overwhelmed, hopeless, and stuck. 

We believe being paralyzed by fear, lies, apathy, and pain keeps you from personal growth and limits your relationship with God and your potential to impact the lives of others. 

We understand what it feels like to be worn out, run-down, and wondering if there is any hope left in the world. Cove Church a safe harbor from the chaos around you where you can pause and be revived for the journey ahead.

Aaron Sutherland

Lead Pastor

Pastor Aaron met his wife Pastor Paula in college, and they have been growing in love together for 25 years ever since. Aaron earned a bachelor’s degree from New Hope Christian College and went on to complete a Master’s degree in Formational Leadership from Capital Seminary. He is a licensed pastor with Open Bible Churches.

Paula Sutherland

Pastor and Life Coach

Pastor Paula met and married Pastor Aaron in college and the two have been growing in love together for the past 25 years. Paula earned a bachelor’s degree from New Hope Christian College, received her professional life coaching certification through Western Seminary as well as credentialing as a PCC through the ICF. 

Brandon Berg

Spiritual Development Pastor

Pastor Brandon has been married to Pastor Joy for 25 years and they have two amazing kids- Kayla and Andrew. Brandon holds a Bachelor’s degree in Management and Organizational Leadership from George Fox University

Joy Berg

Teaching Pastor & Life Coach

Pastor Joy has been married to Pastor Brandon for 25 years and together they have two amazing kids- Kayla and Andrew. Joy is a certified Life Coach and strength training coach.

Dewayne Peters

Next Steps Pastor

Pastor Dewayne and his wife Jasmine have two kids, Delante and Jade. When Dewayne isn’t working doing full-time ministry or full-time home school, he loves to play basketball, hike, and take road trips to fun destinations with his family. Hailing from the Emerald City, his family is very proud to be born and raised in Eugene and has a real love for the people of this community.

Janelle Chandler

Connections Pastor

Pastor Janelle is from Grass Valley, California. She is the youngest of 3 and is the only girl. She's been married to her high school sweetheart Jeremy for almost 24 years. They have 2 girls and a son-in-law, Madison and Christin married to Aaron. 

Savannah Busby

Cove Kids Pastor

Pastor Savannah’s passion for Jesus cannot be missed. When she came to Cove Church she started serving on the worship team and eventually discovered a passion for leading kids to Jesus. Savannah knows no strangers and she loves to bring joy to others.

Ethan Sutherland

Cove Youth Pastor

Pastor Ethan was born in Des Moines, Iowa, but has lived in Eugene for the last 7 years and considers Eugene home! He is Cove Church’s Youth Pastor.

Reilly Sutherland

Cove Youth Director/Administrator

Reilly Sutherland was born and raised in Eugene, Oregon. She started attending Cove Church around 5 years ago, where she met her husband Ethan. It was here she became a leader in youth, and realized her gift and heart for young people.

Adele Grimes

Executive Administrator

Adele is a native Oregonian, having lived in Eugene her whole life. For college, she attended Eugene Bible College (now New Hope Christian College) and received her BA in Christian Education. Though her original plan in life was to become an Elementary School Teacher, God had other plans in line for her. After graduating college, she joined NHCC's staff and was able to work in several departments through her 6 years on team there. During that time, also was invited to be apart of the planting team for Cove Church.

Kate Grasso

Communications Director

Kate was born and raised in Hillsboro, Oregon. She graduated from Goucher College in Baltimore with a Bachelor of Arts in Vocal Music Performance and Non-Profit Arts Administration. It was there she met and fell in love with her future spouse Eliot after hearing him play the Uilleann pipes. They got married at 7,000 feet on Mt. Hood in Oregon before moving to Ireland for Eliot's master's degree and finally to Eugene for his PhD, where they found a church home at Cove Church.

Logan Flaming

Facilities & Cove Crew Director

Logan is the Facilities and Cove Crew Director at Cove Church. Originally from Newport Oregon, Logan moved to Eugene to attend New Hope Christian College in 2013. After many years serving in the church’s Creative ministry, Logan joined our staff in late 2018. Logan can either be found on stage playing guitar or working behind the scenes with the many amazing volunteers that help ministry happen at Cove Church. Logan loves bringing people together in a loving positive community to accomplish things that would never have been possible without each other.

Zoe Schlosser

Administrative Assistant

Zoe grew up outside a very small town in central Oregon called Maupin, on a cattle ranch.  Zoe started attending New Hope Christian College in 2014 where she played volleyball for four years, grew in her relationship with Christ, made many life-long friends, and met her husband, Gordon.

Gianna Flaming

Cove Kids Programming & Curriculum Director

Gianna was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. She officially became an Oregon resident shortly after completing her Bachelors at New Hope Christian College in 2019.  As the Cove Kids Programming & Curriculum Director, Gianna loves getting to equip volunteers and families to champion their Cove kids to be world changers for Jesus. 

Winston Arblaster

Worship Director & Life Groups Director

Winston is an Oregonian whose favorite things include the “3 C’s”: coffee, craft beer, and writings of the Church Fathers.  As Worship Director, the highlight of his week is when he sees others open their hearts to God in worship.

Gordon Schlosser

Programming Director & Equipping Admin Assistant

Gordon comes from Waldport, Oregon and came to Eugene in 2013 to attend New Hope Christian College, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s in Creative Arts. He found himself at Cove Church serving on the worship team throughout his college years and came on staff in the spring of 2020.

Stephanie Grecco

Vocal Director

Born in Seattle and raised in California, Stephanie came to Eugene in 2013, quickly fell in love with the Pacific Northwest, and jumped headfirst into serving at Cove Church. She comes from a multi-generational ministry family whose parents are still pastors of the church they planted in Southern California today.

Daniel Rethwill

Tech Director

Daniel was born in Washington state, but was raised in Eugene since he was 3. He first started to do tech in middle school, graduating later from Churchill High School.

Anthony Hatzel

Music Director

Anthony is from Coos Bay Oregon. He adores the family that God has proved at Cove Church! "I honestly have never experienced a work environment like this before. I really am being revived for the journey".  Fun Fact: He likes black licorice. 

Eric Morris

Sports Ministry Leader

Eric is from Eugene, Oregon. He loves to bring people together for fellowship, fun, and time to enjoy life together outside of the church.  Eric is married to his beautiful wife, Andrea, who is a registered nurse. They have three fantastic kiddos, Brady, Ivy and Hadley. Their family is an active family that loves to stay busy with sports, exercise, and travel. 

Rebecca Stutzman

MOPS & MOMSnext Leader

Rebecca grew up in a small town in central California and relocated to Oregon in 2008 where she met and married her husband. Several years and two daughters later, Rebecca paused her professional endeavors to stay at home with her girls while they are young.

Carol Childers

Welcome Center Leader

Carol is originally from Northern Calif. Born and raised in Grass Valley,  she has made Eugene her home since 1996. Carol leads her amazing team who are always ready to bless anyone who enters Cove Church. She has a passion to make all who call or come to Cove on a weekday feel welcome and be greeted with a smile and an encouraging word!
